by Sarah jamjoum & Zahra Alan

 Year 2023 - 2024

This project is the winner of the second prize in the Tectura Awards 2024.

Fill the voids of the city formed by the war, by proposing a new perception of a sustainable architectural module, acting as a Resistant Eco Infrastructure before, during, and after the war.

The urban spaces is a reaction to the changes brought about by globalization, urbanization and environmental pollution in many aspects of life. As most cities around the globe suffer from environmental and spatial problems that transform some places into a mass of environmental and visual pollution which make them seek to develop serious solutions through the principles of urban revival.

Gaza Strip is considered the largest isolated prison in the world, which make these voids formed in it as a result of the tyrannical colonial policies represented in the wars, random Israeli bombardment and inflicting massive destruction on the buildings, therefore generated huge remnants of demolished rubble, destruction the infrastructure which reflected in all aspects of life.

The project therefore proposes sustainable architectural modules to fill the voids of the city that formed by the war, act as a resistant infrastructure before, during and after the war by linking 3 main components which are community, shelters and war waste.

The module deal with war waste, by swallowing it to be treated underground to be produced in new forms of materials for the reconstruction of the land while maintaining the continuity of the effectiveness of the moduleby creating safe and social spacs.
